Gabapentin for neuropathic pain

Can a dose of 300 mg gabapentin help my diabetic neuropathy?

From the clinical trials it was shown that patients with diabetic neuropathy never benefitted fitted most when the total dose was less than 150 mg. Most people appear to benefit at doses between 900-1800 mg of gabapentin per day. However, you may want to try the 300 mg dose per day for several weeks and see what happens. Increase the dose by 150 mg each week and stop when the neuropathic pain is less. The medication is expensive. Try and maintain control of your blood sugars and wear proper shoes to protect your feet.
