When first used, Abreva may cause redness, swelling or excessive dryness of skin. In rare cases, individuals may develop an allergic reaction to the drug. This may present as a skin rash, difficulty breathing, itching or swelling. To avoid the dryness, use it with a water based moisturizer. Personally i think this is a rip off medication-avoid it. Complete waste of money.
