Lovaza for lipids

Can I take something instead of lovaza to lower my triglycerides?

Lovaza is a relatively new medication and is classified as an omega 3 acid. In my opinion it is a rip off. The majority of insurance plans to not cover it. My advice to you is to go with gemfibrozil. IF you hate medications- eat less, walk more and avoid fatty foods. You may try over the counter omega 3 supplements-but often they contain junk. Lovaza is very expensive. I do not recommend it to my patients.
