Does lithium lower my life expectancy?
I personally feel that bipolar disease itself lowers life expectancy. The reasons are that the disorder makes you do things that are often unreasonable, dangerous and risky. In the long run, combination of drugs and mental health disorders does take a toll on life. For people who have mental disorders, the quality of life is not always great. I cannot think of one mental health disorder that is pleasant or hassle free.
